A.P.P.L.E.
All Punks Please Leave Earth
CD, Broken Rekids
Recorded live at the Tin Pan Alley in New York City on 7/18/87 (they broke up in 1988), this 11-tune disc documents a band that believed in their causes and in the punk rock scene. The only problem with this particular CD is that the raw, live recording makes this an only for the fans type of release. The liner notes penned by Jae and the between song speaking, give the listener a vital feel for what the band was about and what it was like to be involved in a committed punk scene. If you arent familiar with the band, definitely start somewhere else for the female fronted (Jae was definitely a charismatic front-woman), politically charged, punk band. I was lucky enough to catch this band live twice, in the Lehigh Valley PA. For all of you local trivia buffs, A.P.P.L.E. performed at the Northampton Area High School Band shell and right on Hamilton Street in Allentown at an event that the local band, The Follow Fashion Monkeys organized. This CD brings back a lot of memories of a great time in my life.
