Artimus Pyle
"F*cked From Birth"
CD, Prank Records, May 2004
San Francisco produces some of the ugliest music in the world and I of course mean this as a complement and with much respect. Artimus Pyle are not disillusioned. They know they are f*cked, they know things are f*cked and they want to make sure you know you are f*cked. This is dense, heavy hardcore. Screamed vocals, powerful buildups, Discharge-like power, but with that, also comes a heaviness that gives it a metal edge without being part of the modern metal scene. As close to a thrash record as I've heard in awhile. And by thrash I'm talking Poison Idea, Accused and Discharge. Powerful. What a sound these guys create! If you need to get some aggression out about that state of the world you live in, this is an appropriate soundtrack.

"Civil Dead"
CD, Prank Records
Relentless hardcore-thrash-metal-death-rock-doom-spastic-core whatever. Did this type of stuff ever get a name? I missed out on the naming convention. Heavy guitars, horrific bellowing, slow and fast. More powerful than Assuck (am I allowed to say that?) with lyrics dealing with realistic misfortune and disaster.
