The Business
"Hardcore Hooligan"
CD, BYO, August 2003
The Business has long been a favorite of mine. Their English street punk anthems remain to this day, very true. Many bands are said to play punk or punk anthems but these guys truly do. This football themed CD really hits home for me (in a hockey sense, cuz I dont know anything about soccer) and will have you singing along even if you've never watched a soccer match. The closest soccer (football) history gets to the US is in its comparison to ice hockey. The similarity among fans dedication and the games rivalries is nearly identical, which is why I love these songs. From the complaints that money has taken it away from the common workingman to the sense of pride and celebration for and with the teams, to the heckling of the opponents, I can relate. The music is the same great punk that the Business has been creating for over 2 decades. Some of these tracks are old favorites like "Saturday's Heroes" and "Handball". But they are all great punk soccer (eh what the heck, hockey) anthems! I think the Business would be old Boston Bruins fans or Broadstreet Bullies fans had they been born in the USA.

CD, Epitaph / Burning Heart
When a story is the review: I listened to this new Business CD at my job one day. I listened the whole day, over and over. I had a good day. I hadnt had a good day in a long time at work. I mean, I was actually happy at my job. Hi Ho, Hi Ho. I believe that this CD had a lot to do with that. The uplifting, early 80s styled punk anthems got me through the day. That is a lot to say about a CD.
