Descendents
"Merican"
7", Fat Wreck Chords, 2004
The Descendents are working on inspiring their 3rd or 4th generation of punk rockers. Their "Milo Goes To College" remains a mandatory record for anyone's collection. I repeat, ANYONE's collection. With that, these 4 tracks (2 from the new CD and 2 non CD tracks) will inspire many to pick up the guitar and put their thoughts to song (I'm going to the basement to plug in my guitar right after I finishing writing this). While this is no "Milo Goes To College", anything the Descendents touch is something worthwhile. Energy, forthrightness and pure honesty goes into everything they do, which makes them so damned undeniably popular. Enjoy.

"Cool To Be You"
LP, Fat Wreck Chords, 2004
"Cool To Be You" is a record I actually expected to not like. How could a band that has been around this long, still put out a great record. Gladly, and I can say this without a doubt, I can find nothing wrong with this record! It is precise, pop punk the way it was meant to be done and as originally defined by this very band a couple of decades ago. Energetic, well executed, singalong, feel good (even when it takes on issues and anger) punk rock. All the songs, no exceptions, so put it on and have a good day. F'n A this kicks.
