The Dils
Dils Dils Dils
CD, Dionysus Records
OK, so you finally got a hold of the Dils debut 7" (from 1977) "I Hate the Rich" thanks to it's inclusion on the "Class War" cd Bacchus Archives already released. This gem, "Dils, Dils, Dils" has their other studio cuts (the second and third 7"s plus a demo track) plus ten live tracks recorded at various locations in 1978 and 1979. If you are unfamiliar with this band, they were quite revolutionary, but luckily you can get your history lesson at your local record store thanks to the Dionysus Empire. The Dils were one of those bands no one should ignore. "Class War" is one of those landmark punk songs. The band is capable of raucous punk that is driving and compelling as well as creating a sound that is more garage rock and power pop. Get this and the "Class War" CD, even if you are privileged enough to own the original 7"s, cuz you'll want to own the live material.
