The Dogs
"Suburban Nightmare"
CD, Dionysus Records, October 2003
This is the Dogs first CD of new material in 24 years. You know the Dogs because everyone owns the "Killed By Death Rare Punk 77-82" LP (unless of course maybe you are an authentic old timer and have the original recordings). The Dogs transplanted themselves from Detroit to LA through NY starting in 1969. They picked up plenty of rock experience and influences along the way. MC5, Stooges, AC/DC, the Dolls and lots of punk and rock comes through in their songs. "Suburban Nightmare" fits in alongside many of those records. This is a stand up record. Thieir influences, though old, sound fresh and you can tell this music still runs in their blood. This is a great punk and rock record, so turn it up! The liner notes had the Dogs supposedly jailed for trying to electrocute Phil Collins! It doesn't get any more punk rock than that!
