Fishsticks

“Disko”

CD, Theologian Records

Ya see, when people talk about hardcore and the like, this is what I always think of initially. Not straight edge moshcore, not emo, not metalcore, not political correctness, not songs longer than a minute, not veganism or activism, not anything but early 80s blistering fast guitars and drums, noisy recordings and crazy lyrics. If you remember bands like early AOD, Neos and a host of bands that came from New York’s Big City label or loved the fastest bands on the MRR compilation “No So Quiet on the Western Front”, or remember BCT, you’ll love this. Fishsticks pays tribute to the early 80s definition of hardcore with their 31 song discography in 16 minutes. Even though it is 16 minutes, it is exhausting.
