Geza X
You Goddam Kids
CD, Dionysus Records
Yes, Geza X is out there. Everyone should own the Let Them Eat Jellybeans compilation lp that features the song Isotope Soap. Their first lp (this reissue) was a bit more of a challenge to find, though equally as mandatory. Influenced by Frank Zappa and punk rock, Geza X creates something unlike anything I had ever heard before 1981 or since for that matter. Weird, creative and at times intriguingly annoying, the scratchy guitars, odd sounds and vocals combine for a car wreck of a record that turned out to be a classic. Thanks to Dionysus, you no longer have to pay collector prices for this lp and you get two bonus tracks for your wait. You also get Gezas liner notes, which make everything seem even freakier.
