Hatebreed

"The Rise of Brutality"

CD, Universal, October 2003

Hatebreed's 2002 CD "Perseverance" was better, but "The Rise of Brutality" still kills. Not sure if you must have a specific brain chemistry to enjoy Hatebreed's brand of hardcore and metal. I prefer to think it has something to do with being in touch with your primal self (or at least have life experiences that have angered). If you have the correct wiring, it is impossible not to want to make the angry face and creepy crawl immediately as soon as you hear Hatebreed. My all time favorite band is Slayer. Early AF and SOIA are up there as well. Hatebreed agrees with me and channels the same ferocious energy and power. The lyrics make me want to yell along with MTV2 host Jamey Jasta and thankfully the lyrics aren't stupid. I actually wouldn't mind yelling some of these lyrics! Turn it up loud and let it out brothers and sisters!
