Started in 1994, Hateplow was originally planned as a side project for Malevolent Creation and Cannibal Corpse's guitarists Phil Fasciana and Rob Barrett. It became more of a full time band when Rob left CC in 1999. This CD documents the band's Detroit gig in 2000 (opening for SOD) and includes their 1996 demo and a track from 1999 demo. For the uninitiated, Hateplow is over the top death metal purposefully created for making mosh pits turn into chaos. The live tracks include the between song hyping of the pit, which I have always loved especially when presented in the genre's voice. If you are into that sort of thing, it'll make you smile just like I did. The demo brings back those early days of death metal, one of my favorite times in musical history.
