Hellacopters
Everythings On T.V.
7", Wild Kingdom / Psychout Records, 2005
The Hellacopters make it look easy. Like AC/DC or Zeke, if you like them, the outside view will be that every song sounds the same. But to the fan, every song is an essential piece of rock n roll history. Luckily I became a fan of the Hellacopters early on, so I enjoy picking up every piece of rock n roll history they release. The A-side, "Everything's On T.V." is a traditional mid tempo, rock n roll song. The Hellacopters have their sound, like Zeke has theirs and AC/DC has theirs. No one else sounds like the Hellacopters. The B-side, "It Might Mean Something To You" is a rip roaring version of the Hellacopters. Quick, only a minute and 40 seconds. It rips. The 3 song ep is rounded out with a live version of "1995", recorded in 2002 in Stockholm. So if you are a long time fan, you already know to pick this up, but if you are a rookie, this is the perfect record to start with... a traditional anthemic, memorable Hellacopters track, a rip roaring fast tune and a rock n roll live treat!

I'm In The Band / Positively So Naive
7", Wild Kingdom / Psychout Records, 2005
The cover of the record is appropriately a rock n roll tattoo. The banner across the top proudly boasts, "Rock 'N' Roll", with a guitar underneath... musical notes beneath... an appropriately blurry tattoo even... the A-side of the single is also appropriate for the Hellacopters, one of the greatest rock n roll bands in the last decade... the B-side brings together some very old rock n roll influences and as appropriate... rocks! My 2 year old son is running around the room... and from his mouth comes, "Rock n Roll"! It's all about the Hellacopters.

CD, GearHead Records
Flat out one of the greatest rock records of all time! There's not as much "punk" on this as some of their other records which lets the flood gates open on the all out rock n roll. If you thought early Guns N Roses was happening (side note, the first time I saw GNR, with Zodiac Mindwarp, was one of the best shows I ever attended) you'll be blown away by this. Meaning, if you are open to the rock n roll, played with speed, honesty and the skills, this will drive you just as mad as any punk! I can't stop listening to this CD. 70s rock, Stooges, the Hellacopters remember how to rock!
