The Kite Eating Tree
"Method: Fail, repeat..."
CD, Suburban Home/Cowboy Versus SailorRecords, March 2004
If these guys don't get huge it'll be because they are from Los Angeles and not the East Coast. The closest thing I've heard from the West Coast to these guys is Samiam, or maybe (a little stretch) some of the Foo Fighters material. But their sound is more akin to Jawbox (a lot) and Quicksand. The guitars are big and bold, the vocals range from striking to harmonious and beautiful, and the writing and playing are creative. Their post hardcore rock is what it should be, powerful and emotional. The Kite Eating Tree's next CD will surely be a 4 skull release! Check the Suburban Home site as the label has been hit with some bad luck you may be inclined to help out with. This is the label that brought you the Digger (Lehigh Valley band) split 7" with the Fairlanes.
