Probot

"Probot"

CD, Southern Lord, February 2004

So, I tuned in to "Headbangers Ball", and saw Lemmy singing and Dave Grohl playing drums in a video for "Shake Your Blood"! So, I'm thinking, holy cow, Dave Grohl not only lent his services to Queens of the Stone Age, but now on a new Motorhead CD! Well, at least it ended up being ONE Motorhead song. See, this is Dave Grohl, gathering up an army of his favorite metal artists and collaborating with each. I respect Dave Grohl as one of my favorite musicians. No doubt. And to pull something like this off, with this kind of success only increases his stock! My favorite tracks include the collaborations with Lemmy from Motorhead, Mike Dean from COC, Kurt Brecht from DRI, Max Cavalera from Soulfly, Cronos from Venom, and Bubba Dupree from Void! While I do not think every song on this is a classic (they are all at least good), the sheer quality of most of the tracks easily earns this a reccomendation for anyone even slightly interested in metal (or hardcore for that matter). Also appearing are Lee Dorrian (Napalm Death, Cathedral), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), King Diamond, Eric Wagner (Trouble), Wino (St. Vitus, Obsessed), Tom G. Warrior from the legendary Celtic Frost.

For the vinyl collectors. Two tracks from the CD on green vinyl is what you get. The Cronos and Wino tracks to be specific. Rocks.
