Queens of the Stone Age
Go With The Flow
cd ep Interscope 2003
This tune is one of the best songs ever. Dave Grohl proves again and again why he is one of the best drummers on the planet. The song is heavy, melodic, sonic and melds creative elements that are highly enjoyable. Best band to come around in years. The ep is filled out with a live version of Avon, the video for No One Knows and the UNKLE Reconstruction Radio Edit of No One Knows, which is a successfully creepy techno sort of remix, though not better than the original version.

This should be a hit. I suppose this is getting lumped in with the rest of the stoner rock / metal resurgence. But really, it goes beyond that. It is very creative, with even a sort of new wave feel, even though it isnt new wave. Sort of reminds me of the early Cars and that type of feel. This is a weird one to review, because I dont know anyone who sounds like Queens of the Stone Age. 1960s psychedelic meets the Beatles pop meets Black Sabbath metal meets the Cars new wave meets 2001 stoner. Descended from Kyuss.
