SLAYER
Undisputed Attitude
CD, American, 1996
Released in 1996, Slayer paid tribute to their favorite hardcore songs and bands. Im actually digging this more now than when it came out. I was a bit disappointed in 1996 with this. They cover a bunch of Verbal Abuse songs (one of my top 10 hardcore albums of all time) and Dr. Know, who are also one of my favorites. I always thought these two bands didnt get as much credit as they should have. They also cover DRI, Minor Threat TSOL etc.. The thing that I believe makes this more enjoyable now, is the raw energy, something that is missing more from music now than ever. I may not have liked the fact that I didnt think they did much to "Slayerize" the songs, but realistically, they did, by attempting to push the energy on already energetic songs. A great blast from the past, of songs from the past, that has me hooked.
