Threats
God Is Not With Us Today
CD, Dr. Strange Records, 2007
The Threats have their roots in a band called the Reflectors from 1977. They changed their name and in 1981 released a 7" EP on Rondelet Records called "Go To Hell". So here we are in 2007 and the Doc has released a rip roaring CD! Threats combine that early Broken Bones speed and punk fury, along with the same sort of Motorhead enthusiasm that Broken Bones also embraced. Back in the day, the Threats played with the likes of the UK Subs and Anti-Nowhere League. Now that would be a splendid tour for 2007! Threats, Subs and the League! Lyrically the Threats speak to the disillusioned and those without much hope for the world we live in. They end up lifting the spirits with their passionate music as they draw the unity from that audience with those lyrics and instill a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel, with songs like "Believe", "Todays Youth" and "No Time For It". A great 1982 inspired punk release!
