The Gossip kicks things off on this 17 track compilation, and when I hear the song, I want to kick myself for missing the show they played here in the Lehigh Valley. There is a wide variety of bands on this benefit CD. Proceeds benefit Home Alive, a nonprofit organization that teaches self defense (for free) to women and girls. Home Alive began in 1993 after the rape and murder of the Gits lead singer Mia Zapata. So other than getting songs (that are exclusive to this release) by bands like the Makers, Songs for Emma, Zen Guerrilla, Dead Moon and the Need (who do a raw version of Metallica's "Frayed Ends of Sanity", you will be supporting a worthwhile cause.
