This is a 23 track/band compilation culled from 4 independent labels (Lookout, Better Looking, Initial, and Negative Progress). The quality is good, the musical mix is good (ranging from agitated punk to power pop, hardcore, pop punk, indie mood music, mod and the whole dictionary of terms to describe indie bands these days). Sure there are some tracks I didn't dig (it is a compilation afterall), but the whole CD comes off like you are listening to a really good mix CD or indie rock radio show (minus the between song ramblings of some caffeinated DJ). Some of my favorites included No Knife, Counterfit, Criteria, The And/Ors, Pattern, Ted Leo/Pharmacists, and The Reputation.
